Association for Voluntary Action (AVA) started as a small grass-roots level organization working in the rural areas of Puri district. Initially it started as a small movement of the local youths who started small awareness programmes. This small effort was appreciated by the people. Encouraged by this response it was decided to give a legal status by registering it with proper authorities. Thus the organization was registered under Indian Societies Registration Act, 1860 (Act of XXI) in the year 1982.

VISION
AVA envisions the establishment of a society based on human values like liberty, equality, justice and fraternity which is free from fear, hunger and everyone gets equal opportunity to develop his personality to the fullest.

MISSION

To empower the poor and disadvantaged so that they can demand their rights from the society and to make them a part of the development process instead of treating them as mere recipient of aids and charities and to crate a congenial atmosphere in the society so that everybody gets a chance to realize his/her full potential to grow up as a good human being in the society.
